It is presumed that Kagrenac used the Tools that resulted in the Dragonbreak known as the 'Red Moment'. Kagrenac made the Tools to harvest the power of the Heart, presumebly to power the great Brass Tower Numidium. Keening is the enchanted dagger used to flay and focus the power that rises from the Heart. He forged three great enchanted artifacts, Keening, Sunder and Wraithguard, together named Kagrenac's Tools. Kagrenac, High Priest and Tonal Architect of the Dwemer devised a way to harvest the power of the Heart.
